Introduction

Undoubtedly, the progress of nations in our present age is measured by their ability to develop science and technology and the extent to which they can be used in practical life. .

And interest in space science and technology has become a distinctive feature of every developed country, and many countries – especially advanced ones – consider this interest one of their most important issues. We must work together to advance these sciences and their applications in our Arab world, as they have become a prerequisite for progress and prosperity.

Teaching of science and space technology is an integrated system in which all institutions and bodies of society participate: universities, schools, research centers, and teaching. The Regional Center for Space Science and Technology Education has taken it upon itself to clarify this issue and address its results to raise the scientific level of researchers in space science and technology at the local and regional levels. These training courses came within the curriculum set by the United Nations represented by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs for this purpose. In addition to the regional center for teaching space science and technology for West Asia, the other six regional centers around the world are working to achieve it.

Training is the secret to the success of any educational and training institution, so the regional center has sought to provide training opportunities at all levels in space science and technology by offering many courses that are consistent with the United Nations axes. These courses were divided in terms of length of time into:

  • Intensive courses are courses that do not exceed a month
  • Short courses are
  • courses that do not exceed 3 months
  • Intermediate courses, which are courses that do not exceed 6 months
  • Long courses are courses that last up to 9 months

The Training Department offers foundation courses, which are requirements for specialized courses, and they are in the category of intensive courses, and their duration does not exceed a month.

What distinguishes these courses is the encouragement of creativity and innovation, and the development of partnership between all other regional centers and local and regional universities and colleges.

The holding of these courses is announced on the official website of the regional center, as well as through social media and any other means.

In conclusion, I can only thank the Royal Jordanian Geographical Center for its continuous support and for providing all means for the success of these courses.

Peace, mercy and blessings of God
