The first course in “Fundamentals of Space Science and Technology”, which was organized by the Regional Center for Teaching Space Science and Technology for West Asia – the United Nations, was concluded Thursday, 7/28/2022.
The course was held in the Geographical Center building from July 17-29, with the participation of a number of employees and engineers from the public sector, with a duration of 40 training hours.

The Director General of the Regional Center for the Teaching of Space Technology, Colonel Engineer Muammar Kamel Haddadin, indicated the importance of this course, as it links the physical, engineering and space sciences, in addition to that it is a prerequisite for all the specialized courses offered by the regional center within the scientific axes proposed by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs. .
This course is unique in Jordan in terms of its content and its inclusion of the basics of space science within the following topics: Mathematical methods, physical concepts, astronomical concepts, astronomical coordinate systems, two-body problem and orbital motion, electromagnetic radiation, interaction of matter with radiation, atmospheric physics and chemistry, Basics of meteorology, solar activity and space weather, basics of space plasma physics, an introduction to satellites and their applications, an introduction to space law, an introduction to space probes, climate change, and space debris.
