His Excellency, Director General of the Regional Center for Teaching Space Science and Technology for West Asia, Director General of the Royal Jordanian Geographical Center, Colonel Engineer Muammar Haddadin, and President of Amman Arab University, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Al Widian, sponsored the graduation ceremony of the Basics of Space Science and Technology Course, which was held by the Regional Center for Teaching Space Science and Technology for West Asia, in cooperation with Amman Arab University in the presence of the Royal Jordanian Geographical Center, today, Wednesday, September 28, 2022.
The course topics covered the basics of space science and technology and introduced the space science hubs studied by the Regional Center from the tracks identified by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs, which include remote sensing, geographic information systems, space meteorology, space communications, satellite navigation systems, and space law. In line with the rapid development that the world is witnessing in space science and technology, and the great role it plays in achieving sustainable development goals.
This course comes as a result of constructive cooperation with Amman Arab University, which is considered one of the leading universities in the Arab world, with its advanced scientific and technological disciplines, and its high level of advanced teaching methods and advanced scientific research.
In a speech at the end of the session, the Director of Training at the Regional Center explained the great role that the Regional Center plays in spreading knowledge of the importance of space technology applications in many geological, climatic and environmental fields, especially in addressing the phenomenon of global warming and climate change that threatens many types of life on our blue planet. He also urged the students to continue to continue and follow up on developments in space science and technology.
In the end, the General Director and the President of the University distributed certificates to the participants.
